The European Music Day is celebrated every year from June 13 to 24 throughout Europe and also in the city of Madrid. Matadero Madrid
On June 17, at Matadero Madrid, four free performances will fuse genres, nationalities and cultures. The artists of the day will be the British afrofunk group Ibibio Sound Machine, at 7:30 p.m.; the Barcelonan Muchachito Bombo Infierno, at 9:00 p.m. Jairo Perera, better known as Muchachito Bombo Infierno, will present his new show Rumb’Orleans exclusively for Madrid. The Municipal Symphonic Band in the Sabatini gardens
Enjoying music in the street is one of the objectives of the European Music Day and a unique opportunity. On June 21, the official day of the celebration, the Municipal Symphonic Band of Madrid will offer a free recital in the Sabatini gardens, at 8:30 p.m., with more than 80 teachers who are members of the Municipal Symphonic Band, under the baton of Master Jan Cober.
Tribute to Picasso from the Federation of Bands of the Community of Madrid
Also on June 21, at 8:00 p.m., the Federation of Bands of the Community of Madrid will offer a free concert in the Pilar de la Peña Auditorium in the Hortaleza district in homage to Picasso.
