We Bring You To The Most Beautiful Towns In The Community Of Madrid.

Madrid capital has everything, for everyone. And at BookingMadrid there is an infinite offer for families, groups of friends, couples or single travelers to enjoy a tailored plan. But the Community of Madrid is much more than that intense, bustling and frenetic Madrid. This region is home to a series of charming towns, which capture the essence of rural life, customs and a history that goes beyond the center of the capital.

If you like Madrid, you will love its towns. Get ready to travel through its customs, local gastronomy and history in unique natural enclaves.

How to get there?

These towns have easy access through the community’s extensive and comfortable road network: M30, M40, M50… But if you don’t want to take a car, Madrid has a wide network of urban and interurban buses that connect all areas of the city and its surroundings. And a commuter train system ideal for trips to nearby towns, with access from the most central locations of the capital: Atocha, Chamartín, Sol, Nuevos Ministerios, Príncipe Pío…

Chinchón:

Chinchón is a picturesque town with a main square that has become an emblem of Spanish rural architecture, and a natural setting for some of the most emblematic films of Spanish cinema. Its stone houses, wrought iron balconies and the famous Plaza Mayor are a testament to its rich history. The town is also known for its square amphitheater, where bullfights and cultural events are held.

Buitrago del Lozoya:

This charming town is located in the mountains of the Sierra de Guadarrama, next to the Lozoya River. Buitrago del Lozoya is surrounded by well-preserved medieval walls dating back to the 11th century. The old town is a labyrinth of cobblestone streets, stone houses and rustic charm. It is also home to the Picasso Museum, an unexpected artistic gem in the middle of this rural environment.

Patones de Arriba:

Patones de Arriba is famous for its black architecture, a traditional construction technique that uses local black slate for houses. The result is a town with a unique appearance, with narrow, steep streets and dark stone houses that blend perfectly into the natural environment. The surrounding area offers impressive hiking trails.

Rascafría:

This town is located in the Lozoya Valley, surrounded by mountains and forests. Rascafría is known for its impressive monastery of Santa María de El Paular, a Gothic building dating back to the 14th century. The natural environment is ideal for outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling and fishing in the Lozoya River.

Manzanares el Real:

The undisputed star of Manzanares el Real is the imposing Castillo de los Mendoza, built in the 15th century and one of the best examples of Gothic castles in Spain. Located next to the Santillana reservoir and framed by the mountains of the Sierra de Guadarrama, the town offers a beautiful landscape and a peaceful atmosphere.

San Lorenzo de Madrid:

Although San Lorenzo de Madrid is larger than the other towns mentioned, its beauty and historical relevance make it a mandatory stop. Here is the majestic Monastery of Madrid, an impressive masterpiece of the Spanish Renaissance. In addition to the monastery, the town has cobblestone streets, charming squares and an exceptional natural environment in the Sierra de Guadarrama.

Aranjuez:

Aranjuez is known as the Spanish Versailles thanks, mainly, to its impressive palace. This royal residence located on the banks of the Tagus River was built and expanded between the 16th and 18th centuries to represent the power of the Spanish monarchy. In addition to this National Heritage treasure, the town of Aranjuez is very popular among Madrid residents for its well-kept and original grid-shaped historic center, as well as the magnificent Jardín de la Isla and Jardín del Príncipe.

Nuevo Baztán:

This town was founded in the 18th century by the architect and mathematician Francisco de Aguirre as an experiment in urban planning. The result is a town with a unique geometric structure, wide streets and red brick buildings. The Plaza de la Iglesia is the heart of the town and is home to the church of San Francisco Javier, an impressive example of baroque architecture.

These are just some of the most beautiful towns in the Community of Madrid. Each of them offers a unique experience, from history and culture to natural beauty and local cuisine. If you are planning a visit to Madrid and its surroundings, make sure you book your Free Tour on BookinMadrid and enjoy that it is two days…, or as many as you want.
